Vadu beach, Black Sea, Romania

30 km away from Mamaia towards Navodari and then 15 km on a winding sand road bordered by reeds and you get to the sea at Vadu beach, a part of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation.

The same Black Sea as in Mamaia, but a different scenery. Same same but different :). As you take your first step out of the car, you feel the freedom, the tranquility and the wild beauty of one of the most ravishing beaches in Romania. You can park the car at the only fishery on the beach (Vadu Pescarilor - they serve local fish from the Black Sea) and enjoy the rest of the day on this deserted place, full of shells, where the only sounds that you'll hear will be the sound of the sea and, sometimes, the sound of the wind. You can camp on the long as the eye can see shore but be sure to bring with you all you need for your stay - do not forget insect repellent - and clean after yourself.

Pablo Neruda said that he loved the sea because it taught him. He was right. The sea teaches you. If you have an open heart, eyes to see and ears to understand, the sea teaches you to follow any dream you might have, even the one you don't dare to dream of and that's the first reason for which I will always love the sea, my Black Sea...

Vadu beach makes me very happy and when I get there it is hard to keep the happiness inside of me, so I jump, laugh and dance right there, on the shore!

Sometimes, the way back may be a little cloudy and... crowded, but I am sure you'll be relaxed enough to enjoy the view. There's no need to rush home.
